Statistics show that in just a few years (by 2025), millennials will take up 75% of the workforce and we all know that this generation has significantly different motivators than other generations.
According to a Gallup study, millennials are the least engaged generation at work. Only 29% of millennials declare themselves as engaged compared to 45% of traditionalists. 55% of millennials are not engaged at work at all.
These numbers should raise some concerns about the culture we foster in our workplaces and how we prepare for a workplace with a majority of millennials.
At the same time, 50% of Gen X-ers appear as disengaged at work. For all of them, it is important to feel connected to their work and workplace, they want to contribute, not just to “get by”. They want a job that aligns with their values and fuels their sense of purpose.
